WAUCONDA, IL – Winter Thunder Challenge also known as WTC, the ISOC Illinois
regional affiliate, is proud to say that despite a slow economy, they will continue to provide a
venue for snocross racing excitement in 2012.
Winter Thunder Challenge began in 1994 when a single race was held in Twin Lakes, WI.
The 1995 season consisted of four races; in 1996 the schedule grew to eight races. In 1997,
the schedule was expanded to span ten events, a schedule that remains in place to date.
This year the excitement kicks off with their first night race of the season on December 17th,
2011. Additional dates are: December 18th (Day Race), January 7th and 28th (Night Races),
February 4th (Night Race), February 5th (Day Race), February 11th (Night Race), February
12th (Day Race), February 18th (Night Race), March 3rd (Night Race) and finally March 10th
(Night Race).
WTC offers Nineteen levels of racing classes begin at the 120cc Stock class with riders as
young as 4 years old. Racing continues to excite spectators as they watch all classes all the
way up to our Semi-Pros and our Legends class for those 35 years (young) and above.
Winter Thunder Challenge is a non-profit 501c(3) organization that fosters competition
and sportsmanship through education and a family oriented racing program.
