As winter draws closer I just wanted to check in with the snowmobile community and ask, “Are you ready for snocross?” I’m really excited about this season and think all the hard work ISOC has been doing during the off season is going to pay off this upcoming winter.

First and foremost let me begin with saying Thank You for participating and taking part in the organization to preserve what we all love and that is to race snowmobiles. Without every single one of you, ISOC has nothing and I just want to take the time to thank you from the bottom of my heart. There are a lot of other things you could be doing during the winter, but instead you spend it with us and I really appreciate that. Our core belief is that ISOC is “THE RACERS CIRCUIT” and we try to keep that in mind with every decision.

So let’s get into what is new this year. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun racing environment for everyone.  We want to be unbiased and let anyone who wants to race, come race.  The first order of business is to remove the 4 race limit. Our races are now open to anyone who wants to come. Our thought is we will create the playground and you can enjoy it. The second thing we worked on is giving the sport class a point’s championship. Now whether you follow the entire series or your budget only allows a certain number of events, you have a chance at winning the championship. We also introduced 2 new classes for the younger age groups called Transition Limited and Jr. Novice Limited.  Our goal was to separate these classes from the regular Transition and Jr. Novice classes, unless because of time restraints, we are required to combine them.  

Time constraints leads us into our next change. Our goal is always to give the riders as much time as possible on the track, which also means more bang for their buck. We had a lot of feedback from the racing community about the seeding so we tried to limit it as much as possible and we were somewhat successful. Ironwood, Pontiac, and New York are the only nationals that require seeding to be done in the younger divisions and this is because of lack of time due to light or the venue’s needs. We understand the importance of giving the rider what they need or want; sometimes that doesn’t always happen, but we continue to strive to get better at that.
