2017/2018 Snocross season is underway and the Duluth National is in the books. Team Woodies Racing had a great weekend to start the season. Several changes were made in the off season with the most notable the addition of pro rider Johan Lidman from Sweden. Lidman looked good as he adjusts to the the switch from Ski-Doo to Arctic Cat. After a season away from the ISOC tour it didn’t take long for Johan to get back to speed with the pro field. After not qualifying for the Dominator on Friday or making the pro final Saturday, Lidman started getting comfortable on the Arctic Cat and showed a lot of speed on Sunday. Heat one he grabbed a hole shot and ran in front with a hard charging Tucker Hibbert in his tracks.  Johan finished second as Hibbert made a last lap pass. Heat two he had a great start but got shoved off the track in the first turn.  He would later win the LCQ and made his way to the front row of the pro final. Lidman’s bad luck continued in the final when he had to stop after a incident on the start and finished the race in 10th. Working with mechanics Ryan Duncan and Nate McConnell Johan is very confident as they were his mechanics when he rode for Warrnertt Racing a couple seasons ago.

Sport rider Kaden Woodie rode well all weekend grabbing several hole shots and heat wins. After shaking off some bad luck on Friday night Kaden was back up to speed Saturday making the final and finishing on the podium with a 3rd place finish.

Also in sport Beau Tibbetts looked good and showed some decent speed at times, as he is also getting used to a different sled, coming off a Polaris the past few seasons.

Taven Woodie made her pro am women’s debut and looked good. Nerves were a big factor for this young lady at the start of the weekend but it only took a few laps for her to start riding with confidence and speed.

We are pleased with this weekend’s racing and look forward to making progress with each race.

All the Woodies riders rode well this weekend and grabbed several hole shots, just couldn’t shake the bad luck with on the track incidents.

Mike George, Tore Gustavson, and Nisse Kjellstrom all had decent runs this weekend but all look to improve with more seat time as the season rolls on.

A great job was done by the entire team as there is a lot that goes into running a team of this size.  We are proud and excited for the team we have behind us this season. Thanks to Arctic Cat the new sled is great.
