Shakopee, MN (February 19, 2018) – Coming off nearly a month-long break from ISOC Championship Snocross, Hentges Racing had plenty of time to fine tune the setups on its Polaris snowmobiles in preparation for the final push to the end of the 2017-2018 season. Rounds 9-10 on the snocross schedule took place at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, New York, February 16-17. The venue hosted a tight, technical track that made for fast-paced, competitive racing. Hentges Racing’s hard work during the break paid off, with reigning Pro points champion Kody Kamm taking wins both nights, and teammate Petter Narsa backing him up with a second place finish Friday night.
Kamm was nearly perfect in finals, hardly setting a ski wrong the entire weekend. Heat racing put him in a prime starting spot on the line both nights, and the rest came down to nailing the hole shot both times. The result? Both Friday and Saturday Kamm took the lead on the technical track and never looked back.
“New York went really well for us!” Kamm said. “The track was challenging and I had some tough heat racing both days, but we still came out with a good qualifying position and a good gate pick. Your spot on the line was critical to getting the holeshot and I got a good spot which was key to getting the wins. Two in a row!”
Narsa nearly mirrored Kamm’s performance Friday night, finishing in 2nd place right on his teammate’s snow flap. Narsa came off the line ahead of Kamm Friday but fell back on the first lap. Saturday looked like it might be a repeat of Friday, but Narsa fell back from 3rd place early in the race to a final finishing spot of 5th.
“New York was great,” Narsa said. “We had good speed and Kody and I had a great race on Friday. Saturday I got off the line good but I had a bad spot and a couple sleds got by me on the inside. Then I lost two more spots. It was a tough track to hold or make up ground. We’re looking forward to Michigan!
Next up for Hentges Racing is the Soaring Eagle Snocross National in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, February 23-24. For more information on Hentges Racing visit www.hentgesracing.com. Follow Hentges Racing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
