For Immediate ReleaseFinley, ND (January 8, 2020) – After battling the elements through the first two weekends of the ISOC national snocross season, racers and fans were treated to perfect weather at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota for rounds five and six. Unfortunately, a very technical track that presented everything from ice and deep granular snow to wet, heavy slush proved to be an even bigger challenge for the team.
Evan Christian was consistently around the top three in Sport class qualifying, including a win on Friday. Evan continues to be locked in a heated battle at the top of the class championship where every point is critical as the season goes on. Evan missed stepping on the podium for the first time this season, but finishes of sixth and fourth place in his two main events were enough to keep him in third overall.
It was a long weekend for Jay Lura, who had to race three consecutive days, including a makeup round from the season opener. Lura was unable to qualify for the main events on Friday and Saturday but did make the big show in Sunday’s makeup race. “No excuses, said Jay. On to Deadwood.”
The team will be working hard over the next two weeks in preparation for a real fan favorite when we travel to the Days of ’76 rodeo grounds and the tight confines of the bullring track in the heart of Deadwood, South Dakota.
