July 9, 2011, Garrett Goodwin’s life forever changed when a motocross accident broke his spine, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. While Garret has shown extreme courage and motivation, he is still faced with years of therapy, mounting medical bills, home modification and additional surgeries. His determination and strength is inspiring to us all. After 14 weeks of healing and intense therapy at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD, Garrett holds on to this quote by W. Mitchell, “It’s not what happens to you…it’s what you do about it.” Garrett hopes to regain his independence and adjust to his new lifestyle and eventually drive, complete his engineering degree at college, enjoy new sports, and yes… WALK AGAIN! Modifications are costly so please help us restore Garrett’s independence and help him reach his goals! Let’s give Garrett a great homecoming. For more information, click here.
