MAILLOUX RACING KICKED OFF 2017-2018 SEASON IN DULUTH, MN
Ste-Sophie, December 1, 2017
Mailloux Racing Snocross race team kicked off his 2017-2018 season this weekend, November 24-25, in Duluth, Minnesota, at the 26th Amsoil Duluth National, 1st round of the ISOC Amsoil Championship Snocross. Keeping with its tradition, it’s during the American Thanksgiving weekend that the ISOC circuit begins its season at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minnesota. This year track was marked by a start going down the hill to a first hairpin corner.
On Friday, just our Ski-Doo rider #880, Martin Mailloux, was in action in the Pro AM+30 class. Martin had some mechanical issues in his 1st qualifying round and had to settle for a 6th place finish. He then ends up in 5th place in the 2nd qualifying round. Martin qualifies for the final in 15th place, among many ex-Pro riders on the starting line. After a difficult race, Martin crosses the finish line in 13th position.
Nathan Mailloux is very anxious to race in Duluth, but has to wait until Saturday to begin his season. This year on the ISOC Championship, our Ski-Doo rider #111 will race in the Transition 8-13 and the Junior 10-13 classes. Nathan come out of the gate strong with the 1st place in his 1st qualifying round in Transition 8-13, follow by the 2nd place in round 2. In the final, Nathan is pushed off the track in the 1st turn, dropping far behind the leaders. He makes his way back, with the fastest lap of the race, but finishes in 6th place at the checkered flag. In the Junior 10-13 class, Nathan has great races in the qualifications heats, finishing 3rd and 2nd. Unfortunately, Nathan ends up his weekend with a frustrating 6th place in the final.
