The team was in Deadwood, South Dakota this past weekend for rounds seven and eight of the Amsoil Championship Snocross Series. Very warm temperatures and the only snow in town was in the middle of the Day of 76 rodeo arena in the form of a snocross track. The team came into the weekend with high hopes of a great race weekend. Deadwood is the shortest and most demanding track on the ISOC tour, with a short start into a hard left turn, good starts are a must in Deadwood.

Ryan Duncan and the crew had there work cut out for them as the racing got started Friday afternoon.

Taven Woodie had two nice heat races in the Pro Am Women’s class earning a spot in the final. Taven quickly grabbed a hole shot and never looked back, leading the entire race. Taven lit the flames over the finish banner and won her first Pro race at the very young age of 14. Taven becomes the youngest woman to stand on the top of the ACSS National podium. The celebration on the podium was sweet and team owners Paul and Kym Woodie couldn’t have been more proud. Saturday Taven fell just short of a trip to the podium in a fast paced final. She rode hard and fast but just couldn’t catch and pass Elina Ohman in that third place spot. Taven leaves Deadwood fourth in the Pro Women’s points.

Johan Lidman rode well all day Friday in both his heat races and qualified with a good pick in the pro final. Lidman had a good start and battled with the top 4 for about half the race. But if your not leading on a track like this the roost eventually becomes to much as you cant see anything. Johan fell back to a eight place finish. Saturday Johan had a solid day threw out and grabbed a top 5 with a fifth place finish. With a week off Johan looks to continue to work hard and will be ready to go in New York.

Nisse Kjellstrom finished Friday with a top ten finish but failed to qualify for Saturdays final. Mike George struggled all day Friday but looked fast on Saturday as he finished third in the lcq earning a trip to the final.

Beau Tibbetts rode hard and showed a lot of speed at times but just cant shake the bad luck that has been fighting him most of the season. Beau is very determined and look for him to have a good weekend in New York.

Kaden Woodie started the weekend with much excitement as Deadwood is one of his favorite tracks on the tour. Kaden scored his first National podium here a few years ago and was hoping for another good weekend. Friday Kaden qualified well going into the Sport final. Kaden didn’t get a terrible start but at Deadwood it takes a great start to have a chance to make the podium. Kaden battled the ruff tore up track and constant snow roost and settled in for a sixth place finish. Saturday Kaden again qualified well but was involved in a accident on the start of the final that resulted in the race being red flagged. Kaden was transported to the hospital with fractures to his nose and eye socket. Kaden had surgery early the next morning and is currently resting in the Rapid City where he will be released from the hospital later today. Kaden is doing well and is already talking about the next race in New York. He will spend the rest of the week in Rapid City for Dr appointments and such before he heads home on Friday.

Ryan Duncan and the crew are already back at the shop working hard getting ready for the east coast swing as they head to New York for the next venue on the Amsoil Championship Snowcross Series
