WARRENSBURG, New York (Feb. 11, 2019) — Veteran racers Mike Pilotte and Theresa Max swept the finals in their respective Pro classes over the weekend, as East Coast Snocross (ECS) completed Rounds five and six on the 2019 schedule at the Warren County Fairgrounds.
Pilotte (Team Southside/Polaris), of Northwood, N.H., claimed both Pro Open finals in dominant fashion, while Max, of Ottsville, PA, earned a pair of wins in Pro Women action. Dylan Roes (D&D Racing/Arctic Cat) and Michael Newman finished second and third each day in Pro Open.
Pilotte has won all six Pro finals contested in 2019, and all but one of his 12 qualifying races.
“I tried my hardest to stay in shape between seasons this year and it’s paying off,” Pilotte said. “We have my Polaris set up really well and it launches off the start very strong. We’re still working the bugs out of the suspension, but so far we are very happy with the sled overall.
“Everyone works extremely hard to make my machine work weekend after weekend, so I’m just doing the best I can at riding it and pushing it to the front.”
In Pro Lite competition, Wade Acker (Team Southside/Polaris) and Adam Ashline (Ingles Performance/Ski-doo) each claimed a victory. Acker edged Adam Levi by a mere .582 seconds for top honors on Saturday, while Ashline settled for third. Ashline bounced back to record his first career Pro Lite victory by two seconds on Sunday in a tough battle over Acker and Jesse ‘Showtime’ Kirchmeyer.
“I finally got the hole-shot and just rode my own race,” Ashline said. “I tried to keep a good lead, and I was just so pumped to earn my first victory in Pro Lite.”
Ashley Baird (Team Southside/Polaris) and Cassidy Kislowski (Kislowski Racing/Arctic Cat) filled out the podium on Saturday, while Baird and Brooke Ouderkirk (Ingles Performance/Ski-doo) finished second and third respectively on Sunday.
Dylan Holmes (Holmes Racing/Arctic Cat) was on top of his game in New York, claiming both Saturday and Sunday’s Sport Super Stock 600 finals. Travis Emery crossed the stripe in second on Saturday, while Brandon Gray settled for third. Gavin Fleury earned runner-up honors on Sunday, while Gray bagged another podium finish in third.
In Junior division action, Jake Boutwell was the man to beat. The talented young athlete from Keene, N.H., claimed the Jr. 16-17 Stock 600 and Jr. 14-15 finals on Saturday, then backed that up with a win on Sunday in the Jr. 14-15 Stock 600 final. Kolton Gillilan and Steven Max also earned Jr. wins.
Other final round winners over the weekend in Warrensburg include Tristan Huey (Plus 30 Pro Am Saturday and Sunday); Jacob Lux (Plus 25/35 Saturday and Sunday); Josh Connolly (Jr. Sport 12-15 Sat. and Jr. Novice 10-13 Sunday); and Connor Crane (Jr. 7-14 Stock 200 Saturday and Sunday).
East Coast Snocross would like to thank everyone involved with the Lake George Winter Carnival for inviting ECS back for a second consecutive year. This prestigious event has been a rich tradition since 1961, and the series is honored to be part of the overall entertainment package.
The East Coast Snocross series, presented by Woody’s Traction and FXR, is an ISR-affiliated sanctioning body for snowmobile racing in the northeastern United States. ECS maintains a regional circuit intended to keep grassroots snocross racing healthy in this part of the country, while also cultivating new talent for tomorrow’s factory-backed national Pro teams.
