MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 15, 2012) – The crowds that follow AMSOIL Championship Snocross are a hearty bunch, withstanding sub-freezing temperatures to watch the world’s best snowmobile racers battle it out on motocross tracks made from snow. It’s as tough of a live motorsports event as you’ll see, and the United States Air Force recognizes this, along with the athletic, mechanically-inclined 17-35 male/female demographic that makes up the majority of the ACS’ crowds and returns for another season as an elite sponsor of the ACS.
Given the high-powered, technologically-advanced nature of competition snowmobiles, Air Force Recruiting Service (ARFS) – which needs roughly 28,000 Airmen each year for some 150 different fields (more than 8,500 career opportunities are in the mechanical area) – is on board again for the 2012-’13 AMSOIL Championship Snocross season with numerous forms of activations and promotions that fans of ACS have enjoyed the past couple of years.
“The U.S. Air Force has machines similar in mechanical nature to what the active young men and women associated with AMSOIL Championship Snocross are used to being around … ours are a bit more expensive than your average snowmobile,” said USAF TSgt Chris Robson. “But growing up, wrenching on sleds with your dad and buddies certainly gives AMSOIL Championship Snocross participants and fans an advantage out of the gate over other potential recruits. The U.S. Air Force realizes this and we’re pleased to be back with the series for another competition year.”
Another aspect close to both the U.S. Air Force and AMSOIL Championship Snocross is the teamwork associated with pulling together a successful snocross racing program. This plays right into the USAF core values: Integrity, service before self and excellence in all we do. That, coupled with Precision, Technology and Speed – the U.S. Air Force has tabbed AMSOIL Championship Snocross as a great venue to inspire mechanically inclined applicants.
“The Air Force Recruiting Service has been an absolute ideal match for AMSOIL Championship Snocross and our competition teams and legions of fans across America’s snowbelt states,” said Carl Schubitzke, ACS President/Race Director. “So it’s very rewarding to see the U.S. Air Force share in ours and our fans’ passion for the sport of snocross. The U.S. Air Force is a loyal returning sponsor and their activations are easily some of the best run, most crowd-friendly promotions at our AMSOIL Championship Snocross events. Everyone involved with the series is certainly pleased to have the U.S. Air Force back with us for the 2012-’13 season.”
Recruiting the brightest, most competitive and diverse men and women for service in America’s Air Force, the AFRS communicates its wide range of jobs in more than 150 different career fields throughout the brand of the armed services. In addition to flying fighter jets, snocross competitors, teams and fans can find careers available in Aircraft Maintenance, Computer Science, Electronics, Healthcare, Intelligence, Communications, Space and Special Operations.
“Again, AMSOIL Championship Snocross and the Air Force have a lot in common. Just like snocross it takes teamwork, precision, technology and speed for the Air Force to achieve its mission,” added Robson.
